A quick and easy weeknight meal.


Ingredients:

  • 3 slices bacon
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • ½ cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 5 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp pepper
  • 16 ozs (1 can) tomatoes

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet, set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add onions, celery and green pepper, cooking until tender, but not brown.
  3. Add cabbage, sugar, salt, pepper and tomatoes. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low.
  4. Cover and cook 5-8 minutes. Top with crumbled bacon and serve.
