Kathy's 4-Ingredient No Knead Crusty Bread

An easy, tasty bread that goes well with soup.


Ingredients:

  • 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ¾ tsp table salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water

Directions:

  1. Using a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Slowly add the warm water, stirring until the mixture forms a shaggy type dough.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rest at room temperature for 12 - 18 hours, or until the surface is dotted with bubbles.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line your Dutch oven with parchment paper, cover with lid, place inside to heat up as well.
  5. While the oven is preheating, place the dough onto a floured surface and shape into a ball. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 25 - 30 minutes
  6. Carefully remove the heated pot from the oven and place the dough inside. Cover the pot with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 - 20 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing.
