Ingredients:
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 ¾ tsp table salt
- 1 ½ cups warm water
Directions:
- Using a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
- Slowly add the warm water, stirring until the mixture forms a shaggy type dough.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rest at room temperature for 12 - 18 hours, or until the surface is dotted with bubbles.
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Line your Dutch oven with parchment paper, cover with lid, place inside to heat up as well.
- While the oven is preheating, place the dough onto a floured surface and shape into a ball. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 25 - 30 minutes
- Carefully remove the heated pot from the oven and place the dough inside. Cover the pot with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 - 20 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
