Easy Cinnamon Bread

The perfect breakfast bread.


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg, room temp
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsps vanilla
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup sugar (for cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • 2 tbsps cinnamon (for cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • 2 tbsps melted butter (for cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • ⅓ cup confection sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tsps milk (for icing)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Mix first 8 ingredients until wet. Pour half of batter into a greased loaf pan.
  3. Mix next 3 ingredients (cinnamon sugar mix).
  4. Sprinkle some of the cinnamon sugar mix on. Pour the rest of the batter on top.
  5. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mix on top. Use a knife and swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter. Don’t mix it, just cut it through easily.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes or until bread passes a toothpick test. Cool completely.
  7. Mix 1/3 cup confection sugar and 2 t. of milk. Drizzle over cooled loaf.
