Attention weekend shopping warriors and lovers of all things high-quality and handmade, including food, clothing and home décor, there are 64 stores and more than 70,000 square feet of shopping space waiting for you at Walnut Creek Marketplace in Walnut Creek.

Since 2009 Walnut Creek Marketplace has been an experience for shoppers and foodies from near and far, and now is a perfect time to visit.

“The fall and winter are extraordinary here in the heart of Amish Country, with fall colors bursting and anticipation of the holidays growing,” general manager Januery Tango said. “It’s an exciting time, and our vendors are ready to show off their wares.”

Amish Country is a special place for day trips or weekend getaways for families, couples and friends to experience a slower pace of life and take advantage of all this area offers, starting with Walnut Creek Marketplace.

“We have several new vendors along with the old standbys that people have come to love,” Tango said. “One new addition we’re excited about is Winetagous, the onsite winery and brewery that opened in June 2024.”

Winetagous offers wine and craft beers made and bottled onsite. Located adjacent to the Marketplace and next to the sightseeing deck, it’s the perfect place to grab a glass of wine or beer and relax on the deck overlooking the valley after a day of shopping. The second Saturday of every month the Marketplace offers food trucks and live entertainment from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“Snacks are available at Winetagous, and patrons also enjoy bringing food from Marketplace vendors, pairing it with the perfect wine or beer and enjoying it all on the sightseeing deck,” Tango said. “It’s the perfect end to a perfect day in Amish Country.”

If one day isn’t enough, there are plenty of traditional hotels, bed and breakfasts and unique lodging options available locally to extend your stay.

“There’s so much to keep you busy and fed,” Tango said. “From traditional Amish home cooking to snacks, smoothies, ice cream and more, Walnut Creek Marketplace has just the thing to satisfy.”

Tango said one of the unique things about Walnut Creek Marketplace is the one-of-a-kind nature of items offered.

“These products are from small, local businesses that take great pride in their wares,” Tango said. “You’ll find clothing, home décor, handmade quilts, rugs and furniture, along with sports memorabilia from football to NASCAR. The jams, candies, chocolates and baked goods make great holiday gifts.”

For your convenience, Walnut Creek Marketplace offers complimentary Club Cart transportation from the parking lot to the market and back again. w
