Now is always the best time to visit Berlin. Located in the heart of Amish Country, Berlin boasts more than 70 restaurants, inns, traditional hotels and historic attractions to keep you busy, fed, comfortable and entertained for as long as your stay here lasts. At any time of year, Berlin is bustling with events and activities for the whole family, in addition to the year-round natural beauty, slower-paced lifestyle and friendly and welcoming community. Once you visit Berlin, you’ll keep coming back.
“Berlin is unique in many ways, but we’re most proud of how this community combines two worlds into one very special experience for visitors,” Berlin Main Street Merchants Operations Director Janet Flickinger said. “Visitors are often curious about our Amish community members and enjoy engaging with them, learning about their way of life and appreciating how, in Berlin, everyone lives and works together in harmony.”
Flickinger invites visitors to stroll down Main Street to pop in and out of the shops, or drive through the countryside enjoying the stunning scenery of rolling hills, beautiful foliage and a visit to one of the local farms, where many Amish residents are offering everything from baked goods and fruits and vegetables to handmade goods and furniture.
“Many community members have workshops where they create handmade goods and so much more,” Flickinger said. “It’s a way to experience the past and how things used to be so many years ago.”
Berlin embraces the past with restaurants featuring comforting Amish-style food and shops offering handcrafted furnishings, but has also welcomed the present with contemporary clothing and home décor shops and luxury lodging.
“There’s something for everyone in Berlin,” Flickinger said. “No matter what time of year, there’s always a reason to visit.”
